J. Crew Bridal Boutique

Have any of you seen the sneak peek on J.Crew's website of their new bridal boutique on Madison Ave. in NY?  Modeled on a classic French Salon, it is simply stunning not only from a fashion perspective, but an interior design perspective as well.  I love the shelving display in the photo featured above.  The mix of these organic colors contrasting with the stark white is spot on.  I also love the star made from tiles on the hickory herringbone floor.

Dying over this imperfect chandelier with the mix of chains, crystals and ribbons.  Also am digging the coral colored screen with nail heads.  I will definitely be keeping these images on file when I am ready to design my next home.

Perfectly displayed.

In addition to the lovely dresses J.Crew has to offer here they have also teamed up with jewelry designers including Miriam Haskell and Lulu Frost to complete their bridal ensembles.  Pictured here are two of my favorite Lulu pieces.  I can't wait to visit the store next time I am in New York!

Little Dutch Girl

After a couple recent trips to the mall (window shopping, I promise) I have decided that a sturdy, chic clog is in my near future.  Admittedly, clogs have not always been my go-to shoe, but this season designers have found a way to make them modern and sleek.  I would pair them with a long chunky sweater and leggings, or a black maxi dress and jean jacket.  I think right now the front runner is the Sam Edelman black one (6'oclock).  Which one would you choose?

Lonny Magazine AUG/SEPT issue!

photo c/o Lonny Mag
The August/September issue of Lonny came out today and is packed full of exciting design ideas plus tons of eye candy currently out in the marketplace.  However, the most exciting part of this issue is on page 29.  Featured here as part of the market section is my beautiful, design savvy sister, Laura Naples from Neapolitan Home.  Laura is a crazy talented graphic artist and self-taught calligraphist.  Neapolitan as described by Laura, " is a paper studio that incorporates hand-lettering and custom design with handmade and specialty papers".  Her latest innovation: Vintage recovered books - original jackets have been replaced with beautifully patterned paper and the titles are calligraphed by hand!  Genius!  Perfect for a coffee table or displayed on your favorite shelf amongst other brag worthy treasures.  I can't wait to see what Laura comes up with next!

{Laura's page featured here} photo c/o Lonny Mag}  As a side note - how gorgeous is she??

Some must-have items featured in this issue!  I am dying to purchase all of them!!

Project Runway Season 8

Project Runway Season 8 started last week and so far I am not too impressed with the majority of the designers.  There is one designer however that really stands out amongst the bad: Gretchen Jones.  Gretchen is the Designer/Creative Director for the label Mothlove that is self described as, "ethereal and sexy in its very simplicity.Bohemian in lifestyle and design, Jones aims to create collections that beg to be worn and fallen in love with..."  Imagine lots of silky fabrics and sexy silhouettes with a loose drape.

Although her designs and color palettes are simple, they carry a young and fresh appeal that boast a very modern aesthetic. As I was watching last night, I went online to read her profile and she lists her favorite designers as: Vena Cava, Chloe, Rachel Comey - many of my favorites as well!  She has taste and style which many of the other designers don't seem to posses thus far...I know who I am placing my bets on this season!!

Tickled Pink

Belt: Ann Taylor Loft {only 19.99!}
Bracelet: Elke Kramer

Jewel Cluster Headband: J. Crew {on sale for 19.99!}

What do you think about these glossy pink gems?  The color brings me back to childhood with that late eighties/early 90's hue.  These three items manage to make the color modern with their shape and composition.  I think each of these items would be a good piece to throw into my Fall wardrobe for a pop of color.  Even though the shade is a bit summery, paired with emerald greens and eggplants would be divine.

Celebrity Style Spotlight: Olivia Palermo

Love her or hate her, Olivia Palermo is a true style icon of this decade that continues to delight us with her unexpected ensembles.  Many of you know her from the MTV show, The City.  She is also a NYC socialite that is typically seen pictured at the most exclusive events - always perfectly styled from head to toe.

Here are a few of her looks that I absolutely love.  I continue to look to her for style tips and fresh ideas.

Here is a look inspired by Olivia that I would put together.

{PS. how obsessed with these Loeffler Randall leopard booties are you?}

Current Lusts

Lately I have been lusting over a few things that include: anything in a shocking pink hue, anything striped (mostly black and white), anything art deco inspired, anything sequined, anything that has a painted fabric look, anything ballerina inspired - and of course - bows, bows and more bows!

1.  How much do you love this Rachel Roy jacket?  I am totally in love with the painterly print on the fabric.

2.  I have to confess that I actually own this book, but don't own the the version with this limited edition box cover.  How beautiful is the mint green color with the gold lettering?

3.  This ring is so unique and screams art deco.  Want, want, want!

4.  My sister discovered this jacket during a trip to Anthropologie last weekend.  It looks sooo expensive to me, but its only $98!!  I would pair this with jeans or a silk pink dress.  Just gorg!

5.  These chairs are so 1960's glam.  I imagine a woman with a perfectly coiffed beehive applying false eyelashes sitting in this chair at her vanity.  So chic!

6.  I feel like a black bow tie is the perfect fall staple.  I am going to pick one up ASAP!  I would wear this with a chambray shirt buttoned up all the way and paired with a sequined skirt and a blazer.

7.  These sequined shoes are just fabulous...need I say more.  They would be great with ankle length skinny jeans and a chunky merino sweater.  LOVE.

8.  I have been lusting over these crystal pink Chanel glasses for like a year now.  I have perfect eyesight, so justifying the purchase is tough, but maybe I can find a knock off pair one of these days.  I am still searching...

What have you been lusting over lately???

XOXO,

Sorellina
