In The Bedroom

Last week I realized that I'd thought of how I wanted to decorate every room in the house except our bedroom.  After realizing this, I started to feel bad that I had been neglecting one of the MOST important rooms in the home.  The bedroom is where one needs to feel safe, cozy and of course - stylish!  I knew I wanted our room to feel dramatic, but also "happy".  I loved the idea of painting the walls a deep greenish/blue, so I did exactly that!  We went with B. Moore's "Newburg Green".  I LOVE this color.  I first painted one wall behind our bed and lived with that for a week just to be sure it was what I wanted.  My husband wasn't sold on having the whole room be so dark, but I think he is really happy with it now.  I purchased these bright shams (on sale for $30.00!) at Anthropologie and plan to incorporate them with a bright hotel-y white duvet to really pop against the dark walls.  I'm not actually going to buy the chair, but hope to find something like it to put in the corner of the room - any ideas??  The aqua frames look so much more luxe and shiny in person.  They remind me of these boxes.  For even more luxe, I want to buy these sconces.  They feel so dressy serious.  Lastly, I'm dying to get an Hermes throw to drape at the end of the bed or tossed on the chair.

I can't wait to share the final results...almost there :)

Summer Wedding Looks

I recently had a friend come to me asking for help to find her a dress for a late summer wedding.  Sometimes the end of summer is a tricky time to find the right look.  You don't want to look too summery, but you also don't want to read too fall-ish.  I have a wedding to attend in mid September.   I think any of the above looks would be perfect. All have a little something dark, colorful and unique. I am most loving the first and fourth looks.  What is your idea of the perfect late summer ensemble??

NECKLACES: Stone bib necklace, Rectangle link necklace, , Greek key bangle, Brook & Lyn rope necklace, Madewell fall festival necklace,

Happy Friday!

Just a couple things I'm craving this week: Grey and white hide (with metallic accents) and the most obnoxious (in a good way) pink.  I just adore these Tod's Gommini loafers!  Honey - hint, hint...

Do You Woo?

For a girl that is obsessed with makeup and beauty products in general, I absolutely loathe going to the makeup counter at the mall to purchase them.  The thought of being bombarded by the women spraying perfume in your face and practicing their pushy sales tactics is less than desirable.  The solution?  Woo Skincare and Cosmetics!  Woo is a high end cosmetics boutique that carries coveted lines like Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Trish McEvoy and my new favorite - (Plā) Beauty(Plā) Beauty is a full cosmetic line that offers a good chunck of its profits to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta - (read their story here).   Woo also offers services like anti-aging facials, waxing, brow tinting and makeup application.  The best part about Woo?  The staff is suuuper friendly, knowledgeable and won't push you to buy anything you don't want or need.

After a friend told me about Woo, I decided to go try it our for myself.  I've been bored with the eye shades and lip colors I currently own and tend to always use the same ones, so I opted to have my makeup done to get a fresh new look.  As soon as I walked into Woo I was greeted by Katie, one of Woo's top makeup artists.  She was as sweet as pie and gorgeous to boot!  She began my session with introducing me to a few different kinds of moisturizers, sunscreens and light foundations.  She then moved onto the makeup application.  She asked me a series of questions like what kind of products I currently use, what I don't like about them, and what I'm looking to add to my "look".  Whatever she did must have worked, because I ended up purchasing six of the items she used!

More pics of Woo...

My Woo purchases...

1.  Pla Beauty "Super Wear" brow definer in soft taupe.
2.  Pla Beauty Eyeshadow in "wink"
3.  Pla Beauty flawless finish primer
4.  Pla Beauty eyeshadow in
5.  Skin Ceuticals physical fusion UV defense SPF 50
6.  Bobbi Brown shimmer blush in "pink sugar"

After getting my makeup done.  Very light and natural, just the way I like it!

I hope you go visit Woo - you won't be disappointed!

A Local Gem

One of my favorite things to do on the weekends is shop and scour my favorite hot spots for treasures.  I love discovering new stores in Atlanta in hopes they'll become my frequent destinations for gifts, home goods and clothes.  A couple weeks ago, a friend suggested I go check out Peridot Distinctive Gifts, a boutique in Buckhead that houses everything from a French Provincial chandeliers for your dining room to graphic beach totes for your next vacation.  This place has it all and each item is both unique and special.

When I walked into the store, I was greeted by their very friendly staff and a room full of jewelry (high end and costume).  The next room was heavily merchandised with embroidered dish towels, heavenly scented candles and decorative items for the home.  I walked upstairs and found graphic beach cover-ups, beach totes, a heavy assortment of coffee table books, brightly colored graphic pillows and tons of items for the little one in your life. Whether you're looking for a gift for someone, or just need a little reward for yourself after a hard week, this is the place to go!  Of course I didn't leave empty handed - I bought a rustic lantern for my outdoor dining table and a shiny gold bangle, but wanted to buy much more.  I am already looking forward to another visit soon.  Happy shopping, fellow Atlantans!

Check out the store highlights here:

PS - they're on Scout Mob!  50% off your entire purchase, yay!

Let there be Light

I bought these gorgeous lamp bases over the weekend at an antique shop I recently discovered by my house.  The pair was only 80 bucks!  I felt like I'd won the jackpot!  Now I need to find the right shade - what would you put on them?  I'm thinking a dark navy drum shade, but bright white would be nice too.

Fabulous Finds Friday

This week I pledged to myself that it was time to start saving some money.  Unfortunately, I now have another round up of items that I feel I cannot live without.  Call me greedy, but there is always something I want.  Ugh - I blame it on the Christmas when my Santa brought me a dress up box filled with treasures - makeup, jewels, dresses, plastic high heels and crowns.  Thanks a lot Santa...(J/K).

Where can I buy this stuff??

Raffia Blue woven buckle sandals, Cream contrast sleeve blouse, Hinged Collar necklace, Leopard print shorts, House of Harlow sunglasses, Brook & Lynn necklace, Side table, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Nail polish
