Lover The Label

Dying over this little video c/o Lover, the crazy lovely Australian label.  What a creative way to show a collection!  I love the ballerina vibe - recalling one of my New Year's resolutions for this year - take ballet lessons!  Yeah, hasn't happened yet.  But now I am motivated again!   I've been lusty over this brand for a few years now and I believe they even sell some pieces on Net-A-Porter as of this year!  Check it out!

I Simply Remember My Favorite Things...

Today is one of those days...its rainy, dark and cold - eww.  Subsequently, I found it necessary to focus on a few things that are currently making me happy.  Number 1 (above) - a little pot of Needlework solid perfume in Amber Absolute.  This scent is subtle and sexy - I would describe it as "sophisticated hippie".  I also love the old school aspect of it and that you are only to apply it to your pulse points :)

Number 2 - this gorgeous, vintage looking Art Deco inspired glass pendant necklace.  I picked this up over the weekend at Anthropologie.  It was the only one left amongst piles of sale items.  I love finding little gems in a pile of crap.  It is so rewarding.

Number 3 - a trio of bud vases I purchased at Ikea this weekend.  I can't wait to get some little fresh flowers to put in them.  Also pictured, My KW coffee table book that I paged through on Saturday over a delicious latte (haven't looked at it for awhile).  Always a sure thing for getting color inspiration and to put a smile on your face!

What is currently making you happy?

One Dress - Three Ways

I bought this simple striped dress last summer at French Connection.  I have worn it so many times because it's super versatile and can be styled to look casual or dressy.  I have an event to go to tonight and want to look chic, but not overdone. I plan to throw up my hair in a messy top-knot and apply soft, peachy makeup.

Here are three options I have styled using this dress...

Option 1 - French Connection dress, Ann Taylor Loft cardigan, Kate Spade bag, Nine West booties, J. Crew belt.

Option 2 - French Connection dress, Brown leather jacket, Kate Spade bag, Zara royal cut-out shoes.

Option 3 -French Connection dress, Alternative burnout-woven blazer, J. Crew glittery gold purse, gold watch, Cream bow headband, Nine West booties

I like this look the best because it looks springy, but has a little bit of an edge.

Which would you choose?

This week has been nutty (yes, I know it's only Wednesday)!  JP and I are in the middle of possibly getting a house {soon} and there is soooo much work involved.  It's super fun but scary, stressful and exhausting all at the same time.  I wish I felt like the lady in the photo above today.  She looks so calm and cool.  I hope to be like her when I am that age - so much style, grace and poise.  I also want my hair to look like that!

I'll keep you all updated on the house situation.  Hoping for good to come my way this week!  Let the decorating begin (hopefully)!

You're Invited

{Art Deco cool - via bella figura}

One of my good friends is getting married next year and after speaking to her recently about her plans, it got me in the mood to search for what is out there on the wedding front in dresses, invites, and decor - just because.  Even though I am already married, I'll forever be interested in everything wedding until the day I die.  They're just so FUN!  I will be doing a few future posts regarding weddings, but today's is dedicated to the art of the invitation.  Here are a few I've discovered recently and fallen in love with...

Super clean and fresh looking.  image via Image Spark.

Amazing design.  Very textile inspired. found via bella figura

And the personal favorite...my invites from last year.  These were designed by my talented sister of Neapolitan Paper + Home.  Aren't they ridiculously awesome?  Of course I'm biased, but I really loved them.

A New "Do"

Lately I have been super lazy when it comes to my hair.  Most days for work I put my hair up in a wet bun due to lack if time in the morning.  It buys me more time to sleep, but I end up feeling messy and unpolished all day.  I'm in search of a few new "do's" that I can quickly execute in the morning and still look put together.  Here are a few I'm going to try out.  Stay tuned for pics of my interpretation of the looks....

{A messy poof with an elastic headband}

{a half messy bun/french twist}
{long side swept bangs with loose side curls}
{A messy side braid - my hair is not as long, so wont get the same effect, but its too cute!}

Any other easy but cute hairdo's I should know about?

Shoe Envy

{photos c/o fashion devotee}
Feast your eyes on these puppies!  I discovered these shoes while watching the Miu Miu Fall runway show on you tube last night.  Aren't they ridiculous!  The collection was pretty monotone and dark, but then Miuccia P. threw in these unexpected booties and it made the presentation so exciting and fun.  They are a little cartoony and space-agey, but something about them just speaks to me.  The only think I need to do now is figure out how I can get them into my closet ASAP...

Have a very stylish weekend!

A Peek Outside The Shows: Paris Fashion Week

{gorgeous shot!  love the color and textures here.}

Since I can't actually be one of the lucky ones to attend Paris Fashion Week (or any fashion week for that matter), I always look forward to seeing the amazing street shots taken by bloggers and the media.  My favorite fashion photog/blogger, Tommy Ton, captured this PFW brilliantly!  Here are my favorite shots from the week.

{Zana Roberts of Marie Claire.  She always mixes feminine/modern with a little rock and roll - always works}

{off duty model, Natalia Vodianova, with her two little ones.  these kids have no idea how cool their mom really is... pretty sweet.}

{i need a pair of bright blue trousers for spring, AND those nude Louboutins.  must. have.}

Celeb Style (singer) Crush

Her Best Looks

I've always been a huge fan of Gwyneth Paltrow for her polished looks and active/healthy lifestyle, but she has made me an even bigger fan this year due to her crazy funny/talented appearances on Glee as Holly Holiday!  I loved the Cee-lo cover a couple months back, but last night was even better!  How much did you love the Prince cover of "Kiss"??  Amazing!  Keep it up GP, we love it :)

Hey, Pretty Outfits

Happy Monday everyone!  Thought I would start off your week with some pretty ensembles by the French label, Sessun.  I had never heard of the brand before, but discovered it while browsing images on Pinterest yesterday.  The collection is ultra girly and feminine with lots of floral prints and tailored ruffly pieces.  Since you cannot purchase these duds in the US, I'm hoping to find a similar floral blazer elsewhere.  While I love the floral shorts, I am not sure how this would work on my figure.  I saw some similar ones at Target over the weekend but they were pretty short.  I think what makes a floral printed short work is a longer length - it adds a bit more sophistication.  Also loving the model's bright lipstick and the adorable strappy sandals.  Ah, the French can never go wrong when it comes to fashion...  Très chic!

Color Splash

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you are as excited for the weekend as I am.  Recognize the beautiful lilac and neon yellow color duo above?  If you watched the Oscars last Sunday you will.  Check me out today over at Camille Styles where I share color inspiration drawn from my personal favorite gown that graced the red carpet Sunday.

Have a VERY stylish weekend!

Luscious Leathers

images c/o Zimbio
I almost fell over when my sister sent me this photo of Kate Bosworth outside the Fall 2011 Burberry Prorsum show at London Fashion Week.  She always kills it with her styling, but this one stole the show!  She looks amazing is every way from her straight platinum locks, to the studded beige leather skirt, to the leather quilted booties on her feet!  However, I can't help but wonder what it would feel like to sit in that skirt...hmmm.  Regardless,  I'm dying to get my hands on something similar!

Want the look???

1.  Theory Lana washed leather jacket
2.  Alice and Olivia tulip leather skirt
3.  Tory Burch logo leather clutch
4.  Zara diamond leather belt
5.  Sandro virage leather biker jacket
6.  Ann Taylor canvas leather strappy platform sandal
7.  Kate Spade gold coast shimmer Maryanne
